About Me

I am an artist based in Baroda, Gujarat, specializing in conceptual abstract works that explore the intricate connection between the mind, body, and soul. As a scholar of Jain art and archaeology, I often have the privilege of visiting ancient temple ruins. These visits, combined with my in-depth studies of temple history, serve as a profound source of inspiration for many of my creations. In my leisure time, I enjoy dabbling in street photography and conducting curated art workshops in schools, sharing my passion for art with young minds.

Living is a work of art

The-Shukrawari-Bazar

‘Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.’ — Buddha.

I firmly believe that one needs to seek within the heart to give rise to peace and creativity. Create what you think from heart, regardless of what is right or wrong. I believe in encouraging people to pour the images of mind outside, irrespective of any medium. Living in the stressful world, it is essential to let it out and let emotions speak. This belief is what drives me to produce everything that I can think of. In my opinion, it is more than just creation. It is more than just the feeling of content. It is peaceful and it brings stability in life. Nature has been a great inspiration because it keeps changing and each day is new and beautiful in its own light. The flowers, leaves, clouds, trees, birds, oceans, humans etc., motivates me to do something different everyday. I tend to play with a lot of texture on my canvas as it brings out unprecedented forms similar to that of nature. Taking a walk down the road, looking at new faces, eyeing activities happening in the streets of the city might seem too ordinary but it is what I love to observe and initiates a spark from within. It is a pause in life where you stand looking at the creation and not be intimidated by it but embraced by it.

This is not only to understand the concept but also to inculcate the idea. And this is exactly how I want a viewer to perceive my artwork.

Prachi Shah is a Vadodara based artist who used to dabble in art since school days. The hobby of childhood became a passion later on. Being a student of history and having had no formal training in the field of art, she learnt her basics from her guru Shree Ramesh Pandya, an eminent artist. She is not only connected to human behavior but also to its roots; the nature. Being a nature lover, she started her journey as a Sunday painter and before she realized, she is a core of various group shows and exhibitions.

Among the group shows, her most acclaimed work was" The Shukrawari Bazar” which is based on the famous Friday flea market of Vadodara. Being a resident of this city past 8 years, she found herself most connected to the very essence of the city which had a new perspective all together. Her work represents a quintessential nature and human story. While acrylic on canvas is her favorite medium of representation, she has shown her versatility by also communicating her ideas and thoughts through copper, paper, wood installation, etc. She has shown keen interest to work on themes like Repercussions on the effect of war, personification of women, Indian Mythology of Tilak, etc. She has been encouraging and teaching a lot of people of different ages to create what they seek for. Change is what inspires her the most and this mediation between nature and time is what keeps her going.
